Students' Feedback # 4

# 3: Zee Abdullatif, Currently in Private Classes

"I am studying Medina Arabic book 1 with sister Nasrin from past 6-7 months.

Sister Nasrin is a good teacher very enthusiastic, friendly and easy-going. She treated me with respect during her classes and was interested in helping and supporting me. She motivated me to love the subject she was teaching. She created a positive impact on my life that reshaped my vision and purpose to learn Arabic.

The class is a weekly one hour class through skype in which we learn lessons from Medinah Arabic Book 1,grammar rules based on the lesson, review of previous class ,checking the homework and clearing of doubt of students. Every students are considered and they get their turn of reading as class work and giving replies to questions asked by the teacher, and to clear their doubt.

She utilizes every moment of the class. She was able to keep us engaged during her lessons, think, and ask good questions and help us every possible way. She gave homework checked it regularly. she helped me improve my Arabic handwriting by giving a soft copy of a writing book. she instructed to take its print out write 2 pages daily n send its picture to her for correction. This writing part of homework was apart from the regular weekly homework from the text which helped me lot.
No doubt she is very kind but quite strict about attending the classes regularly ,no absence from the class without prior notice and without a legitimate excuse. I realized that learning can be fun and a life-long experience with her or with teachers who are kind but firm like her.

Jazak Allahu khair

Why don't you give any free "trial" classes?

Question: Why don't you give any free "trial" classes?

Answer: When I was looking for a teacher for myself, I always took advantage of this free "trial" classes option to know what type of teacher I am going to have. I took many trail classes with many teachers. After the trail classes, when I continued to take classes, I realized that the teachers are not as good as they seemed in the trail classes. I felt like that was a drama class to act as excellent teacher than one really is. I just did not trust people any longer as much as I used to before. I felt like people were out for making money than teaching sincerely.

Therefore, I kept no trial classes for myself. I am no good actor of any sort at all. I do not know how to act like the best teacher for a day or two for the sake of gaining students.

I believe I am teacher at heart, and I love teaching greatly. I sincerely care for my students' success. When I see my students are doing great, it brings me happiness while encourages me to teach further and better.

Students' Feedback # 3

# 3: Zee Abdullatif, Currently in Private Classes

"BismillahirRahmanirRaheem
AssalamuAlaikum

I recently started Arabic classes with Sister Nasreen. My ummi had just started working on the Madina book with her and suggested that I do the same. I wanted to focus more on conversation, so Sister Nasreen suggested Al-Arabiyatu Bayna Yadayk with extra grammar on the side. In the short time that I've been studying, I'm already learning and applying the concepts, not to mention she gives me a nice amount of homework to keep me busy throughout the week. I am excited to continue my classes with Sister Nasreen."

Students' Feedback # 2

# 2: Um Zahidah Abdul-Latif, Currently in Group Classes

"As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa baaraka tuhu,

I started studying with sister Nasrin in May 2014. I was very excited when I saw an offer from sister Nasrin for free arabic classes from Madinah book. I also enrolled my daughter in private classes with sister Nasrin and am pleased with her progress thus far masha'Allaah.

Alhamdulilah I have found sis Nasrin to be a very thorough teacher, and also very encouraging. It is very clear that sister Nasrin wants her students to succeed in these classes. She expects a commitment as far as attendance and homework. Oftentimes, she will ask questions to make sure the student is grasping the materials. She is concerned with the understanding of the material before progression to the next stages.

I HIGHLY recommend anyone who is serious about learning Arabic to study with Sister Nasrin. I have an enormous amount of respect and adoration for my new Arabic teacher, baarakaAllahu feeha."

About Me

I am Nasrin Akther, with the Aqeedah and Manhaj as-Salafiyah upon Islam, Insha Allah. I am originally from Bangladesh. I have been living in Brooklyn, NY, USA since May 2001. I am currently a student at the Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.

My Arabic Education Background is that I took 1.5 years of Arabic Course at City College of New York. I am currently taking level 3 of it again this term, Fall 2014, as a Review. I also successfully finished level 2 course again last term, Spring 2014. When Masjid Ahlul Quraan was Sunnah offered a one month intensive course on Arabic, I attended both level 1 and 2 classes. I received second award in the whole course of one month but as a second level student, I was the first with the award. I finished 7 month intensive DVD courses offered by brother Asif on 3 Madinah Arabic Books. I finished Ajjurumiyah with a female student of knowledge from Dar-ul-Hadith of Dammaj, Yemen. I also finished Tuhfatus Suniyah with a Student from Islamic University of Madinah in Masjid Ahlul Quraan was Sunnah. What's more, I took some private Arabic classes here and there for couple of weeks to 2-3 months. Furthermore, I finished many Arabic grammar books and Arabic books on my own.

I love learning Arabic just as I like teaching it.

Students' Feedback # 1

# 1: Umm Zakariyah: Currently in private classes, was in group class.

"Feedback on classes given by Nasrin

I have been taking lessons from Nasrin for approximately a few months now. I would like to say that the sister is very patience and good in explaining the lessons. She makes sure I as a student understand what she is teaching and she is very serious. I can say about my teacher that she is very passionate about teaching Arabic and loves to teach it to others.

In the past I had Arabic lessons with different teachers who unfortunately have not taught me much. Nasrin uses a simple method to teach and one of the good thing she does is she teaches grammar in Arabic as well as explaining in English. However she always stresses the importance on learning Arabic in Arabic and not in any other languages.

In regards to extra homework outside the classes expect to have some and expect them to be looked at and marked.

She is not the type of teacher that overburden a student with homework however she will give her students enough homework to do during the week.

I would say she is quite strict in terms of memorizing what she teaches but at the same time understanding if you maybe could not do it; saying that do not take her for granted on this could cause the you to get kicked out of the course.

Punctuality and seriousness is a must!

I would say overall I am very pleased with her and her teachings and I will carry on studying under her insha’allah

Umm Zakariyyah"
